FARM TOURISM
The Kovačič Farm is located above Maribor and offers a unique experience of nature, homemade food, and relaxation.
You can enrich your visit with horseback riding or a stay at Hotel Frost.
Situated in a beautiful location just 5 km from the center of Maribor, the Kovačič excursion farm offers an idyllic natural setting where we serve homemade cold cuts, meat preserved in lard (tunka), and house wines – Rhine Riesling and Laški Riesling. We also accept private group bookings upon request. It is an excellent place for picnics and various gatherings, and we also organize tastings in our traditional “velbana” cellar.
The farm is part of a broader story of horseback riding, tourism, and relaxation in nature.
Guests can enjoy walks around the property with stunning views of Maribor and its surroundings, visit horse stables, riding arenas, and other animals. By prior arrangement, horseback riding in nature or in the arena is also available.
RHEIN RIESLING AND MUSCAT
The cluster of Rhine Riesling is small to medium-sized, compact, cylindrical in shape and sometimes branched. The round berry has a green-yellow skin and sweet and aromatic juice. It produces a fine, elegant, noble, rich wine. With the right amount of alcohol and enhanced acidity and the unobtrusive right residue of unfermented sugar, it produces a harmonious, distinctive, slightly refined aromatic wine.
Muscat adds an aromatic flower, the scent of fresh grapes and a sweeter taste to this wine. It is a semi-dry wine, offered in Carlo frost bottles.
HOMEMADE FOOD
We will serve you homemade cold cuts with tuna meat, homemade sausages, jam, pate and seasonal vegetables from the home garden. We are sure that you will be delighted with the taste of tuna dishes, as the recipe for its preparation is at least 50 years old. Homemade bread is also particularly delicious.
You can combine the experience of homemade food with a visit to the farm, horseback riding or a vacation.

WELSCHRIESLING
The cluster of Welschriesling is cylindrical in shape, small to medium in size and very compact. It often has a characteristic secondary cluster in addition to the main cluster. The berries are small and round, usually green to green-yellow in color, speckled with brown spots where they are exposed to the sun.
The wine has a fairly high level of acidity, which makes it suitable for aging. It is a wine with a lower alcohol content, but at the right time of harvest we achieve the right acidity, which gives the wine the right freshness, liveliness and harmony. It is one of the most widespread varieties in Styria.
